week four

Im writing this blog in week 5, but technically its still week 4 for me because we havent had class yet. booyah

This week the lecture was held it in the lab, which was very helpful. Luke showed us how to use the filters which was handy for creating my lantern. Also, he told us that Angela was in a movie, ive watched the trailer twice and unless shes dress as Nicholas Cage, i cant spot her.

During the tute, i got started on making my lanterns using a graphics tablet, which made it a lot more easier. She also taught us how to make a button and make it interactive, however im finding it hard to make my button work on my ecard.

last week there was a video to watch and commented on, i forgot to add it in my blog last week, so i'll squeez it into this one. It was interesting but the voice over was unbelievably annoying.

peace.

Week 3 (Friday the 13th, eek!)

Aiiight, check it.

This week during the lecture we were introduced to usability. Luke showed us a few sites in which we had to comment on. We looked at the effectiveness and efficiency of the site and also satisfaction from the viewer. We also took a look at a couple of search engine sites (e.g Google) and discussed why each were successful or not.

During the tute, we followed a few video tutorials teaching us how to motion tween, mask etc. Then most of us got started on listing ideas for our ecards. I decided to choose Chinese new year, I came up with a some ideas then starting mucking around with flash and creating some sort of layout. I hope it all goes well and ready for week 5!

Later Alligator.

week 2

Today we were introduced to our first assignment, the Ecard. During the lecture Luke showed us Ecards from previous students, all of them were really well done. It was interesting to see the many ways you could approach the assignment and it also gave us good insight to what we could achieve if we worked hard. During the tute, Angela showed us how to create layers and organise them in folders with the correct naming conventions. We did a few exercises on tracing an image and creating motion tweens which im sure will come handy in the coming weeks.

Also..

Not enough computers to cater to all students = very lame.
